Hello,

I use R 2.0.1, patched, on Windows XP, 1GB RAM.

If I open R and select New Script from the file menu before doing anything else, R crashes.

If I am in R and working and then go to write a script, it opens fine, and I write my script. Then, I try to save my script, and R crashes after I enter the filename and click Save. I have even tried using only single-word filenames thinking that perhaps there was a problem with long file names -- though there shouldn't be, as far as I can tell. However, this has not helped.

As I have seen no one else on the list discussing this issue, I imagine that it is not a problem with R, but perhaps some other program(s) on my system. However, I am at a loss as to where to begin. I have uninstalled and then reinstalled R, but the problem persists.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
