This seems like a real simple question - but I am not finding the  answer in the help files and manuals. I am not a real sophisticated   user of R so maybe that is why I cant seem to get this. Anyway - I
 ne= ed to create matrices for doing a Mantel test on my data which was
 collecte= d in a 5 by 8 grid. I would appreciate any help in how to
 make this h= appen. I am using the Mantel test that I found in the
 APE library.
