Singapore passport and visa photo requirements
Singapore follows the ICAO 35×45 mm portrait on a plain white background and accepts both prints and digital files. The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority rejects photos with a glossy finish or any filter, and the photo must be recent.

What the photo must show
- Photo age. Recent — applications typically ask for a photo taken within the last 3 to 6 months.
- Finish. Matte or semi-matte print. Glossy prints are refused because they reflect light.
- Expression. Neutral expression, mouth closed, both eyes open.
- Glasses. Do not wear glasses; reflections and tinted lenses are not accepted.
- Headwear. Not allowed except for religious reasons, with the face fully visible.
- Editing. No filters, no retouching, no background replacement.

Common reasons photos get rejected
- A glossy print with a reflection.
- A photo with a filter, beauty mode or changed background.
- A dark or shadowed background instead of plain white.
- A photo that is not recent — old photos are a frequent refusal.
