Thailand passport and visa photo requirements
Thailand uses a 35×45 mm photo on a plain white background for visas and passports. The rules are straightforward, but the digital upload for the official e-visa system has its own size and format limits.

What the photo must show
- Photo age. Taken within the last 6 months.
- Expression. Neutral expression, mouth closed, eyes open.
- Glasses. Not allowed — remove them, including lightly tinted lenses.
- Headwear. Only for religious reasons, and the face must be fully visible.
- Background. Plain white with no pattern, no shadow and no second person.
- Print. Sharp, high-quality colour print, for applications that ask for a paper photo.

Common reasons photos get rejected
- A shadow behind the head or an off-white background.
- A photo with glasses or a hat.
- A file that is too large or too small for the e-visa upload.
- A photo older than 6 months, or one borrowed from another application.
