Vietnam passport and visa photo requirements
Vietnam uses a 4×6 cm (40×60 mm) photo, larger than the European standard. The e-visa system asks you to upload the photo together with a scan of your passport data page, so a clean digital crop saves a trip to a photo shop.

What the photo must show
- Photo age. Taken within the last 6 months.
- Expression. Neutral expression, mouth closed, eyes open and looking forward.
- Glasses. Not allowed for visa and passport photos.
- Headwear. Only for religious reasons, and never covering the face.
- Ears. Both ears should be visible; tuck hair back.
- Background. Plain white with no shadows, no objects and no other people.

Common reasons photos get rejected
- A photo with a coloured or patterned background.
- Hair covering the ears or eyes.
- A photo with sunglasses or tinted lenses.
- A low-resolution scan that looks blurry when printed.
